How To Find Your Dream Job: Position Ignition’s Unique Vision
Let’s face it, there are a lot of companies out there that can help you find a job. Resume writers, social media consultants, job boards… all of them are there to help you find a job. But there is one thing that a lot of job help businesses do not offer- a job that will make you happy.
What Does Position Ignition Do?
Last week I had the pleasure of speaking to one of the founders of Position Ignition, Nisa Chitakasem. She was very informative about what her company does and how they help their customers, something which greatly inspired me. Here’s a brief overview of Position Ignition’s value proposition.
Aside from running a blog that gives its audience lots of incredible job search advice, they run a business that helps their customers not only find a job, but find a job that they will enjoy and that will make them happy. They accomplish this task a number of ways. First of all, they have a professional staff that works personally with each of their clients and they do something that not a lot of companies these days do: they get to know their customers on a personal level.
In my opinion, the best businesses know their customers- and if that is the case then Position Ignition is in the top tier. They believe that you need to “focus on the whole shebang” and can’t just look at a resume and know where to place someone. They get to know their clients, their goals, their skills, etc. and only then will they help you focus your efforts and help you network yourself in the right areas.
Focus
One of the things that I took away from the conversation that I had with Nisa was that in order to find the right job, candidates really need to focus on what it is that they want. She explained that many people can go out into the job market with a resume and a suit and will eventually end up with a job (though this doesn’t always work, it’s important to realize that talented people can get hired fairly easily even in today’s job market). The problem is, that since they didn’t focus on what type of job they wanted, what industry they were going into, or what type of person they were networking themselves to- they might be in for a big surprise when they show up to work at their first day!
One of the keys to finding a job that you’re happy with is really focusing on what kind of job you want, and how you can accomplish this goal. This is one of the things that Position Ignition specializes in: helping you focus while you’re on the path to your dream job.
